Enlight EN-7247 Page 1/3 »

Introduction

Enlight has manufactured PC-cases for a long long time. Actually I remember one of my pal's 133MHz Pentium-rig being mounted into Enlight's case. Enlight's cases have allways been well-made basic stuff equipped with couple of handy little features. In the course of time basic structure of the Enlight cases framework have remained invariable and it's been just improved with minor improvements. As a matter of fact Enlight's product policy is based on variation of a different front panels on a same frameworks. By this way cases can be easily made trendy and different looking from one another. Trade marks of Enlight Corp's product's are removable 3,5" drive sleds, "rip off frontpanel" and 5,25" mounting railings.

In addition to normal packaging materials you can find from the cardboard box the Enlight EN-7247 case, a little plastic bag filled with screws and a A4 paper which is ment to be an installation manual.

EN-7247's essence is simplificantly stylish. Combination of black and silver plastic and sharp edges makes the front plate look actually quite civilized and restrained. I must admit that it looks amazingly good. From the subsection of the front panel you can find a ventilation grating and couple of USB-connections.

Specs:

  • 4 x 5,25"
  • 2 pcs 3,5" HDD-places and 1 pcs HDD/FDD-places
  • Snap-on front bezel for quick and easy installation.
  • Two fan places (1 front and 1 back)
  • Slide guides for quick FDD/HDD installation.
  • Dimensions: 190 x 425 x 480mm
  • Paino: 8,3Kg
  • PSU:
    • 5V = 25A
    • 3,3V = 20A
    • 12V = 13A
    • -5V = 0,3A
    • -12V = 0,8A
    • 5VSB = 2A

Opening the case happens with the traditional Enlight way; Steady grip from the front panels bottom edge, sturdy jerk and fastening opens and front panel gets loose. After that you've to unscrew the sidepanel-screws before you can slide it open. From inside you can find a power cord for power supply.

As allways in our reviews power supply had to give up it's protective "coat" and reveal it's entrails to all intrested pairs of eyes. EN-7247's PSU is traditional 300W model equipped with one 80mm fan. Cover is quite closed - not many ventholes in sight - and that explains one 80mm casefan included in package. PSU is ment only to be self-cooling, not part of case's ventilation system. PSU is equipped with five molex-connectors, two FDD-connectors, rpm-cable, and ordinary AUX-, ATX- and P4-connectors.
