I rebelled against the manufactorer's guaranty and opened the PSU to see what it has eaten. Its weight is rather normal, broadly speaking the same as Antec Truepower 380W and Coba 350W. Everything needed is inside. Middle-sized cooler elements, big condensers and winches. I won't write more of them, my education isn't broad enough to explain electricity stuff:) The inside doesn't impress me negatively, nor positively. The quite few amount of elements inside could be explained with the 120mm fan. A bigger fan requires less cooler elements. Wouldn't it be best to stuff it full with cooling elements and use the fan with low voltages? Maybe this will be the future. The orange fan is a classy detail in the black PSU.
Starting and Installation
The installation was easy to a big Maxi-case. The cables were just the perfect size, 40 to 60cm. I would have wanted to see more Molex-connectors (only five) but it isn't hard to use adapters for more. I assume that the manufactorers expect that the consumers already have SATA hard drives. I would like to have lots of Molexs because the leftovers aren't hard to hide, but we'll survive with the given. There are all the needed cables, ATX, P4, five Molexs and a couple of FDDs. You could consider the SATA-connector as a speciality, even though I didn't use it during the tests.
I switched the computer on after the installation. The fan took a couple of fast(and noisy) revs and calmed down soon. After a month's testing period there hasn't appeared any changes in the noise. The PSUs noise is covered with other sources. The northbridge cooler of Abit and my hard drives should be quietened before the Nexus's noise would be a "problem". Unfortunately I didn't have resources to measure the noise level, so I'll have to give a estimation by ear. The silence of the PSU is praiseworthy! I'm afraid to promise the manufacturers value, 19dB. Each manufacturer has its own measuring techniques and they may not be comparable with each other. I have heard that a lot of cheating is done in this section. But I can affirm that this PSU is one of the most silent PSUs found in the current market.
