mofoFX (OpenGL)

MofoFX is test software that uses OpenGL for rendering. The engine is developed / optimized very hardly on NVIDIA's GeForce (NV3x / NV4x) GPUs (NV and EXT extensions) and it is similar to the engine used eg. Doom 3. Mofo uses eg. 3D textures, DOT3 bumpmaps and stencil shadow volumes in per pixel lights. Test were run at 800x600.

Phong (OpenGL)

Phong is a software built on mofoFX's engine to test fragment speed and picture quality with different rendering paths. The rendering of Phong is based on fragment_program extensions (NV_fragment_program or ARB_fragment_program), whick can be compared to Direct3D's Pixel Shader functions. NVIDIA's own NV_fragment_Program extension is versatilest and efficientest conserning what comes to qualities and speed, because with it it is possible to exploit different rendering precisions (FP32 / FP16 / FX12) on command-base. These optimizations have no affect on picture quality. All of the Phong tests were performed with AA 4x / AF 8x settings using three (3) different rendering paths: FP32 path (NV_fp FP32), NV30 path (so-called. combo ie. NV_fp FP32 (70%) / FP16 (8%) / FX12 (22%)) and with standard ARB path (ARB_fp FP32). Resolution was set to be 1024x768.

Humus Mandelbrot (OpenGL / Direct3D)

Humus' 3d-programs are very imposing and also very heavy for graphic cards at the same time. Because these programs are extremely versatile, they can be exploited to measure speed of the craphic cards. Mandelbrot (made by Humus) calculates so called mandelbrot's set, in which Pixel Shader functions are used. what's best, there are both OpenGL and Direct3D versions of the program available. For rendering with GeForce FX (NV3x / NV4x), FP32 precision was used and tests were run at windowed mode (800x600).
