Zalman is known from their coolers but lately Zalman has begun expanding from cooling to other computer related products. In January Skenegroup|net tested the Zalman's gaming mouse FG1000 (article in Finnish) and now Zalman has begun making displays. The display market is full of screen makers and in a way it is pretty interesting decision from Zalman to jump in. But don't worry, Zalman adds one feature that cannot be found from other displays in consumer class and it's 3D!
Skenegroup|net got a Zalman Trimon ZM-M220W for the test from our Swedish partner PCB Distribution AB and it is a 22-inch widescreen display. ZM-M220W can only be found in couple stores in Finland with a price tag approximately of 575 Euros.
The retail package and the content
Zalman Trimon ZM-M220W is packed in a nice black box where the display is really well padded to keep the screen intact in rougher shipping. The box inside contains a CD-disc with drivers and a manual, a quick installation guide in English and in Korean, 3D glasses, clip-on 3D glasses and a collection of wires including dvi-, d-sub-, audio- and power cables. As a nice exception all wires are included with the display.
The display itself is black and with the panel size of 22" it is not a small screen. The stand of the screen is also pretty massive and it has enough adjustments to satisfy the needs of a high-end user.
